Razzie Nomination Reactions

A lot of awards honor Hollywood's best...but only one dives straight into the garbage that went to theaters in 2013.  That would be the Golden Raspberry Awards, aka "The Razzies", started in 1981 in a living room.  Most "winners" don't actually attend the ceremony, but some do attend and have a sense of humor about it.  For instance Halle Berry showed up to accept her Worst Actress award for 'Catwoman' (which truly is a bad movie) and brought along the Oscar that she won for 'Monsters Ball'.

Another thing:  The Razzies never ever take themselves all that seriously, and they'll do whatever they want.  Adam Sandler and Tyler Perry have been nominated for Worst Actress, and former President George W. Bush "won" Worst Actor for the anti-Bush Michael Moore movie 'Fahrenheit 9/11'.  Clearly that win was more as a joke than actually saying that he did give the worst performance in a movie.

Anyway, I'm rambling.  Here are the nominations and some comments for each.

COMMENTS:  I actually liked 'Lone Ranger'.  Didn't really care all that much for 'Grown Ups 2' or 'Movie 43' but I didn't hate them.  I avoided 'After Earth' and 'A Madea Christmas'.

COMMENTS:  Johnny Depp wasn't THAT bad as Tonto.....

COMMENTS:  I keep hearing that Larry The Cable Guy was the only good thing about 'A Madea Christmas'.

COMMENTS:  Don't really have any comments on these.  Naomi Watts' skit in 'Movie 43' was actually kinda funny....extremely strange but still kinda funny.

COMMENTS:  Okay that 'Planet Nepotism' line was funny.  And yes, that is how it is written in the actual nominations.

COMMENTS:  I still defend 'Lone Ranger' as a good movie.

COMMENTS:  Yes, 13 people directed the various skits that comprised 'Movie 43'.  Other than that I've got nothing. 








The Razzies will be held March 1, the day before the Oscars.  Speaking of Oscars, those nominations are going to be announced tomorrow morning so I'll have something up about those sometime tomorrow.
